Developed by Dr. Craig Ross Muller as the core output of his Doctor of Business Administration thesis at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the Super-Cube® model is one of the first empirically validated, Africa-centric leadership frameworks in the world.
Tested rigorously in a leading African FMCG business network, the model structures leadership development around a unique cubic architecture. At its centre stands the individual (“you”), with six interconnected dimensions forming the faces of the cube. This design ensures that personal growth radiates outward to teams, organisations, supply chains, and ultimately the broader African economy.
Rooted in the ancient African philosophy of Ubuntu (“I am because we are”) and Martin Buber’s I-Thou theory, Super-Cube® treats every human interaction as an encounter between equals. It recognises that leadership capacity is not fixed by genetics (only 24–30%) but is 70–76% developable through deliberate practice, structured learning, and real-world application.
The model was validated through a mixed-methods study with confirmatory factor analysis confirming excellent model fit and high reliability across all six dimensions.
